Founded by Jessica Muffet, MundaBoats was the first online business to showcase yacht brokers’ listings to the public. Today, its broker network benefits from a comprehensive suite of online marketing tools, including inventory and lead management through BoatWizard, access to SoldBoats data, and customized online advertising and marketing solutions.

In March 2000, MundaBoats expanded into the European market, opening its first European office in Fareham, England under the leadership of Ian Atkins. This expansion catered to markets in the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, and Australia. In response to growing interest from Scandinavian countries, dedicated sites were also launched for Finland, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. Now, MundaBoats serves 12 countries and attracts over 4 million monthly boat shoppers.

In July 2016, MundaBoats’ parent company, Boats Group, was acquired by Apax Partners, and later by Permira Funds in February 2021. Boats Group’s portfolio includes other leading marketplaces such as Boat Trader, boats.com, and iNautia.
